Species text
Sarcophila latifrons is a Nationally Scarce flesh fly usually found in coastal dunes and beaches. It is widely distributed but very local on southern coasts from Glamorgan to Norfolk, but most often recorded from Cornwall. It has been reared from carrion and dead insects, and may possibly be a parasitoid or predator of grasshoppers. It has been recorded from several localities in the East Thames Corridor, one in the Lee Valley and one at Colne Point in North Essex. References
